European Travel

April 29, 2010

When driving in Europe, it’s important to get your car insurance sorted beforehand so that you can concentrate on the road ahead and the challenges it presents.
Before you leave, check if your policy provides a certain amount of European cover. If it doesn’t, you need to purchase a policy so you are on the right side of the law. You might also want to consider roadside recovery to avoid the potentially high costs of getting your vehicle home.
You should always notify your insurer of your plans to go abroad with plenty of advance notice and also ensure that you’re familiar with the various laws in the countries you’re driving through.
The amount you pay for your insurance will come down to which of the car insurance groups your vehicle falls into, so make sure you get the best deal by shopping around online, where you can compare the price and features of policies and see what’s suitable for you.
