Is this the world’s fastest and most fuel efficient car?
May 7, 2014
A British sport car brand claims to have developed the world’s fastest and most fuel efficient diesel sports car.
The Trident Iceni is claimed to have a top speed in excess of 190mph and the ability to run for up to an incredible 2,000 miles on a single tank of mineral or bio-diesel.
It uses something called torque multiplication technology to achieve the combination of speed, power and fuel efficiency.
Two additional models – the Iceni Magna fastback and Iceni Venturer estate – have also been unveiled by the Norfolk-based company.
All three models are striking in design and feature clean curves plus an unusual sculpted rear. There are also 39 bespoke manufactured components, including independent control of each car seat, though every Iceni can be built to specific customer spec.
Trident co-founder Daniel Monaghan said: “We have worked extremely hard to reach this point and the whole Trident team is thrilled to be bringing the world’s most fuel-efficient diesel sports cars to market.”
Prices start from £96,000, though there is limited availability and already a pre-launch waiting list.
