Motorpoint welcomes Government plans
October 24, 2013
Car supermarket Motorpoint has welcomed plans by the Government to reduce the cost of motoring.
The UK’s number one independent car retailer believes the package of measures announced by Justice Minister Chris Grayling signals a willingness by the coalition to start addressing the continual rise in costs associated with owning a vehicle.
Motorpoint, which has sold over 33,000 vehicles across the country in the past year, identified schemes such as piloting fuel price comparison signs on major roads as particularly beneficial to consumers.
Mark Carpenter, managing director of Motorpoint, said: “As the car buyers’ champion Motorpoint has been working tirelessly to bring down the cost of motoring since it was launched in the late 1990s, saving customers close to £200m every year off manufacturers recommended retail price.
“The proposals announced today such as the fuel price comparison signs show that the Government is also listening to the needs of motorists and starting to tackle the rising costs associated with owning a car.”
