New MINI JCW has maximum appeal
April 18, 2017
In recent years the MINI has been growing in size and in stature, but the latest John Cooper Works Countryman certainly takes things a step further.

The five-seat MINI is taller, wider and longer than before and also features the most powerful engine ever which means it can sprint to 62mph from a standing start in a very rapid 6.5 seconds either with the standard six-speed manual gearbox or the optional eight-speed Steptronic sports transmission.
The car is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine and boasts performance characteristics inspired by motor racing with a maximum torque of 350Nm on stream at between 1,450 and 4,500 rpm. It delivers its peak output of 231bhp.
There is a power increase of 13bhp compared to its predecessor and in addition, the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman is 19cms longer, 3cms wider and has a wheelbase extension of 7.5cms offering more space across its five passenger seats. The luggage compartment can also be increased from 450 litres to 1,390 litres.
With the standard manual transmission, the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman can deliver combined fuel economy of 38.2mpg and a CO2 emissions level of 169g/km. The Steptronic version is rated at 40.9mpg and 158g/km.
The new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman carries a price-tag of £30,675 for cars fitted with the manual gearbox while the Steptronic model is priced from £32,275.
Standard equipment includes LED headlamps with cornering function and daylight driving lights, cruise control with brake function and the 6.5-inch colour display includes sat nav and full connectivity. MINI driving modes and rear park distance control are also offered as standard.
