New Renault Arkana E-Tech goes on sale

August 17, 2023

The new Renault Arkana E-Tech full hybrid, with its impressive blend of flair, sophistication and efficiency, is available to order now priced from £26,995.

Renault Arkana E-Tech

Combining the original Arkana’s distinguished looks with Renault’s bold new ‘Nouvelle Vague’ visual identity, the latest generation model also marks the introduction of a range-topping Esprit Alpine version. Alongside the Evolution and Techno trims, the Esprit Alpine model benefits from an enhanced standard specification while borrowing a touch of sporting style from the iconic Alpine brand.

Designed as a hybrid from the ground up, the Arkana perfectly illustrates the success of the ‘Renaulution’ strategy as it plays a pivotal role in the brand’s plan to reconquer the C-segment alongside the all new Megane E-Tech 100 per cent electric and the all new Austral E-Tech full hybrid.

The Evolution, starting the Arkana range at £26,995, features a C-shaped LED front lighting signature, automatic headlights with high/low beam, 17-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and folding heated door mirrors and tinted rear windows. Standard equipment also includes an electronic parking brake, automatic climate control, hands-free keycard, seven-inch driver information display and seven-inch Easy Link infotainment system with navigation and wireless smartphone connectivity with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

From the Arkana’s comprehensive array of advanced driver assistance systems, the Evolution also features active emergency braking system, traffic sign recognition with overspeed prevention, cruise control with speed limiter, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, hill start assist, rear parking sensors, rear view camera and automatic wipers with rain sensors.

At £28,995, the Techno builds on the Evolution’s level of equipment with such features as blind spot warning, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert and electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.

The interior, meanwhile, gains an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, 10-inch driver information display, 9.3-inch Easy Link portrait display with voice recognition, three Multi-Sense driving modes with eight ambient lighting colours, a foldable rear armrest with cupholders, black headlining and sustainably-produced TEP artificial leather upholstery. From the outside, the Techno is marked out by 18-inch alloy wheels, extra-tinted rear windows and tailgate, plus a distinctive aerodynamic F1 blade on the front bumper.

At the top of the range and priced at £31,295, the Esprit Alpine adds unique 19-inch alloy wheels, black door mirrors, a bespoke Esprit Alpine F1 blade, double exhaust tailpipes in gloss black and special Esprit Alpine exterior detailing.

Inside, this sophisticated version benefits from heated power-adjustable front seats with lumbar adjustment on the driver’s side, a heated steering wheel, frameless auto-dimming rear-view mirror, Esprit Alpine TEP artificial leather and suede upholstery, and Renault’s Easy Drive which adds adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go and lane centring assist.

Seven exterior paintwork options are available: Glacier White, Pearl White, Metallic Grey, Metallic Black, Flame Red, Zanzibar Red and a new shade called Midnight Blue.

All versions are powered by the smooth and powerful E-Tech full hybrid 145hp powertrain. It combines two electric motors (36kW main motor and an 18kW High-Voltage Starter Generator) with a four-cylinder 1.6-litre 69kW (94hp) petrol engine via a smart multi-mode clutchless gearbox and a 1.2kWh battery.

The new Renault Arkana E-Tech full hybrid starts off in electric mode by default and can run on pure electric power for up to 80 per cent of the time in city driving. The highly efficient drivetrain also results in CO2 emissions as low as 105g/km and includes an innovative e-save feature that can keep the battery’s charge at a minimum of 40 per cent, providing the extra back-up to keep on driving in electric mode if required, or to assist the engine on steep uphill slopes.

The new Renault Arkana E-Tech full hybrid is available to order now.
