RAV4 models hit the showrooms
December 17, 2015
Toyota has released the first batch of its popular compact SUV RAV4 models a month ahead of the arrival of the hybrid versions in the UK. The latest generation model boasts a new 2.0-litre D-4D diesel powertrain plus an improved 2.0-litre petrol engine with lower carbon emissions and more efficient fuel economy.
The new 141bhp diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox in the front-wheel drive RAV4 has an official combined fuel return of 60.1mpg with 123g/km.
Priced from £23,695, it comes with the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen, rear-view camera, a six-speaker audio system with DAB radio, cruise control, air con and 17-inch alloys.
Petrol models, costing from £28,295, are all-wheel-drive and are fitted with CVT gearboxes. The 2.0-litre Valvematic engine produces 149bhp and is rated at 43.5mpg with a carbon emissions figure of 152g/km.
Five trim levels are on offer with the range-topper costing £29,295.
Then in January for the first time, the RAV4 will be available with the new 2.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrain and this model will be priced from £26,195 to £30,795.
Toyota claims the hybrid, which is front-wheel-drive only, will have combined economy of 57.5mpg and carbon emissions of 115g/km.
