British branding for Jaguar F-Type
January 6, 2016
If there was ever any doubt to the glorious Jaguar F-Type’s heritage, the company has just lifted the lid on a British Design Edition of its award-winning sports car.
And the exclusive model will feature special colours inspired by the Union Jack in the shades of Caldera Red, Glacier White and Ultra Blue. In addition, there’s an Ultimate Black version.
Cars will be available in both coupe and convertible body styles and also feature a Sport Design pack along with British Design Edition badges and branding on the centre console, headrests and tread plates.
Prices start from £75,255 for the coupe and £80,390 for the convertible, which is a premium of about £9,000 above the standard F-Type S.
Optional on the S model, the Sport Design Pack is standard equipment on the British Design Edition and comprises a gloss black front splitter, body-coloured side sill extensions and rear venturi while a fixed rear spoiler is also available for the coupe.
There are 20-inch Cyclone wheels with a unique satin grey finish and red calipers (black is an option).
Move inside and the F-Type boasts premium Jet leather upholstery finished with contrast stitching in a choice of three colours, plus carbon fibre trim around the centre console.
The car is powered by the company’s 380PS supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, mated to an eight-speed Quickshift transmission and all-wheel-drive.
In addition, there is an upgraded sound system compared to the F-Type S, which introduces the InControl Touch infotainment system with a 380W 10-speaker Meridian system.
Boot space on all versions of the convertible is also being increased to 207 litres with a change in the way the roof is stowed.
Jaguar design director Ian Callum said: “The F-Type is a sports car that excites the senses with a visual drama that is both individual and very British.
“Creating the British Design Edition gave us the opportunity to subtly enhance the way the F-Type looks – inside and out.”
