Dacia adds new Duster powertrains
September 4, 2025
Dacia is enhancing its range of powertrains available on the Duster, offering more power, while staying true to its best-value-for-money promise.

Following its successful introduction on Bigster, the new hybrid 155 powertrain will soon be available on the Duster. It combines a 109bhp, 4-cylinder petrol engine, two electric motors (a 50hp motor and a high-voltage starter/generator), a 1.4kWh battery and an automatic electric gearbox.
It has four gears for the ICE engine and two for the electric motors. This combined technology is made possible by the absence of a clutch.
The regenerative braking function works alongside the battery, with its high energy recovery capacity, and the efficient automatic gearbox, allowing Duster to remain in all-electric mode for significant periods of time in the city. What’s more, efficiency is heightened with the car always starting in all-electric mode.
The hybrid 155, Duster achieves combined fuel consumption of 61mpg with carbon emissions of just 105g/km.
For the first level of electrification, Duster mild hybrid 140, combines a new-generation 1.2 litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system and a six-speed manual gearbox.
The hybrid system supports the combustion engine during the start-up and acceleration phases, optimising driving pleasure and improving average fuel efficiency to 52.3mpg with carbon emissions of 122g/km.
Coinciding with the roll-out of these new powertrains, Duster also gains a new interior look with exclusive upholstery and matching trim on the Journey finish. Extreme trim now features new 18-inch black alloy wheels. With the hybrid powertrains, both Extreme and Journey levels are now available with adaptive cruise control as standard.
Full pricing, alongside orders opening, will be available from November 2025.
