Order books open for the new Octavia

June 9, 2020

The order books are open for the all-new fourth-generation Skoda Octavia that builds on 60 years of tradition and once again sets new sector benchmarks for value, practicality and equipment.

With a comprehensive launch range that consists of hatch and estate body styles, three engine options and a trio of value-packed trim grades: SE First Edition, SE Technology, and SE L First Edition, the Octavia is set to continue where it’s multi award-winning predecessor left off.

The Octavia has been the backbone of the Skoda range in the UK for more than 20 years, and remains the brand’s biggest selling model to date. More than 2.5 million third-generation Octavias were sold worldwide, making it the most successful Skoda model ever.

UK prices for the new Octavia range start from £22,390 for the 1.5 TSI 150PS SE First Edition hatch model and rise to £29,515 for the 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG Estate SE L First Edition. Retail customers looking to finance their new Octavia with a Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) can take advantage of a generous launch offer that features a £2,000 deposit contribution, 4.1 per cent APR Representative, and the option to add a service plan (covering the Octavia’s first two services) for just £159.

Additional derivatives and powertrain options will join the range later this year, including an entry level S trim, a 1.0 TSI engine available with a manual transmission, the introduction of mHEV (mild hybrid) DSG on both the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI, and PHEV (plug-in hybrid) models. A sporty vRS model, available in diesel, petrol and PHEV, will also be added to the line-up. The Octavia vRS iV will be the first ever electrified vRS model.

The fourth-generation Octavia is longer and wider than its predecessor, has an even larger boot and showcases the latest evolution of Skoda design language. The new interior combines outstanding functionality with high-quality materials and class-leading practicality. Innovative connectivity features and new assistance systems further highlight the brand’s commitment to delivering the best possible value for money to owners.

In terms of engine choice, the new Octavia range launches with three options with power outputs ranging from 115PS to 150PS. The petrol unit is a 1.5 TSI 150PS while the entry-level diesel offering is a 2.0 TDI unit that develops 115PS. Both drive through a six-speed manual gearbox. SE L First Edition customers have the additional option of a 2.0 TDI 150PS engine that comes with a seven-speed DSG gearbox as standard.

Among the Octavia’s many technology highlights are third-generation MIB infotainment systems, Virtual Cockpit digital display, LED headlights and Wireless Smartlink for Apple CarPlay. The all-new interior features a host of high-quality design features including a new two-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel, shift-by-wire DSG selector, and rear parking sensors with manoeuvre assist.

UK deliveries of the Octavia launch model are expected to start in the summer with additional variants scheduled to arrive by the end of the year.
