Berlingo gets petrol and diesel engines

March 15, 2023

Following significant customer demand, Citroën is bringing back petrol and diesel variants of its popular Berlingo passenger vehicle.

Citroën Berlingo

Available from May 2023, prices for petrol Berlingo variants start from £25,590 with diesel models priced from £25,465.

In late 2020, Citroën announced Berlingo would be available exclusively as the all-electric ë-Berlingo Electric. While ë-Berlingo Electric has enjoyed considerable success since its launch, customer demand for petrol and diesel variants has persisted.

With Citroën’s commitment to offering accessible and affordable mobility to all, the brand is now delighted to reintroduce the powertrains to the model range, giving fleets and private buyers a wider choice of vehicles.

Citroën Berlingo is exclusively available in ‘M’ length, measuring 4.4m long and 1.90m high and has an agile turning circle of just 10.8m. M variants are capable of seating up to five adults in comfort. ë-Berlingo Electric models will continue to be available in either M or XL variants, the latter of which is capable of seating up to seven adults thanks to a third row of seats that can be folded and removed.

Berlingo petrol and diesel variants are available across Feel and Flair XTR trims. As standard, both Feel and Flair XTR trim feature Citroën’s signature Airbump exterior styling, an eight-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, DAB radio, plus Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All petrol and diesel variants will come as standard with a metal mesh bulkhead behind the second row of seats.

Both variants also come with a range of safety and driver assistance systems as part of Citroën’s Safety Pack. This includes Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Safety Brake, Cruise Control and Speed Limiter, Speed Limit Recognition and Recommendation, and Driver Attention Alert. Both trims also feature the Citroën Connect Box Emergency & Assistance system which places the driver in touch with a trained advisor in the event of an accident or breakdown.

Feel variants come with a choice of PureTech 110 petrol and BlueHDi 100 diesel with a six-speed manual transmission or a BlueHDi 130 diesel engine with an EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission. The top-of-the-range, Flair XTR models are sold exclusively with a BlueHDi 130 diesel engine with an EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission.

Ë-Berlingo Electric models feature a 50kWh battery and a 100kW (136hp) electric motor, with a WLTP range of up to 174 miles from a single charge. All models support up to 100kW rapid charging with an 80 per cent charge completed in just 30 minutes. The ë-Berlingo versions also feature a 10-inch fully digital driver’s instrument display.

The Citroën Berlingo will be available to order from May 2023, from £25,465 OTR.
