The Vauxhall ADAM really ROCKS

February 20, 2014

The latest addition to Vauxhall’s funky ADAM range is getting ready to rock the rafters!
For the newest arrival to the ADAM family is called the ROCKS and it’s all set to make its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
It’s taller, wider and much tougher in appearance than other ADAM models and there is also a full-length electric folding canvas roof.
Vauxhall has re-worked the chassis system too – it’s raised by 15mms and there are improvements to the springs, dampers, steering and rear suspension.
Buyers can also choose from 17 or 18-inch alloys which can be personalised with new wheel clips in ‘Wild’ design and unique colours.
To help give the ROCKS a more rugged and muscular appearance, there is the introduction of anthracite-coloured cladding around the car, which also comes with an integrated rear roof spoiler, LED daytime running lights and silver skid plates.
There are also plans to introduce new exterior paint colours, starting with a vibrant yellow Goldbusters shade.
And in true ADAM style with flexibility high on the agenda, the folding canvas roof will available in a choice of three exterior colours – Black, Sweet Coffee or Light Oak – that combine with the different roof colours.
The ROCKS will also be the first model to feature Vauxhall’s new 1.0-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo three-cylinder engine.
Start/Stop technology is standard and the unit comes with a choice of two power outputs – 90PS and 115PS with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Like its stablemates, ROCKS is available with the sophisticated Intelilink infotainment system – priced from £275 – allowing integration of Android as well as Apple iOS smartphone functions into the car.
ROCKS prices will be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch.
