Hitting the high Note with Nissan
February 28, 2014
The Nissan Note – a car that families have embraced thanks to its design, versatility and value for money is about to get a new supercharged petrol engine.
The British-built car represents executive saloon space in a supermini-sized MPV and now boasts a version featuring the Japanese brand’s DIG-S powerplant.
This 1.2-litre direct injection unit produces 98PS, has carbon emissions of 99g/km, can return up to 65.7mpg and also has stop/start as standard.
The DIG-S Note comes with the choice of either a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional Xtronic, the latter producing 119g/km of emissions.
It also comes with 16-inch alloy wheels along with revisions to the suspension for improved ride and handling.
The DIG-S completes the Note’s powertrain line-up and is expected to represent 25 per cent of sales in the UK.
It is available in Acenta trim upwards with prices starting from £14,495 and carries a £1,000 premium over the non-supercharged 1.2-litre engine.
Nissan is also introducing a Style Pack for an additional £800 which introduces two-tone diamond cut 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear roof spoiler, side sills, rear privacy glass, a carbon look rear bumper plus a more aggressive front bumper with glossy black grille.
