It’s the SsangYong Musso to the rescue
April 9, 2020
SsangYong Motors UK is delighted to confirm its partnership with North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the supply of three award-winning SsangYong Musso pick-up trucks.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service helps to protect an estimated population of more than 678,000 people over an area of 2,400 square miles as well as hundreds of thousands of tourists and visitors who come to North Wales every year.
Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motors UK, said: We’ve been making big strides in the specialist vehicle market and we are delighted that North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is our first fire service! The trucks look amazing and are perfect for the role for which they have been purchased – go anywhere, value for money, rugged 4WD vehicles.”
Day-to-day the SsangYong Musso will be used as a multi-role support vehicle whilst adding an emergency resilience capability for fire officers during extreme weather conditions and other operational duties – including carrying fuel bowsers for large incidents, compact high-pressure firefighting pods, and general station support duties.
Geraint Jones, fleet and engineering manager at North Wales Fire Service, said: “We need a versatile vehicle that can operate in a number of environments. The Musso is strong, has 4WD capability with a good ground clearance for use in adverse weather conditions such as snow and floods. Our teams have to cope with some of the most extreme and dangerous situations, so we need vehicles that can perform reliably in a wide variety of emergency scenarios.”
