New Chequered Flag E-Pace launched

May 4, 2019

Jaguar has revealed a new Chequered Flag special edition for the E-PACE. Unique, premium design touches and upgraded standard features build on the agility, precision and performance that helped to make the E-PACE Jaguar UK’s best-selling model from April 2018 to March 2019.

With Chequered Flag exterior side badging and 19-inch Satin Dark Grey wheels that immediately draw the eye, the special edition vehicle is available in three colours – Photon Red, exclusive to this model, alongside Corris Grey and Yulong White.

Step inside and there are prominent Chequered Flag treadplates, while the Ebony Grained Leather interior with red stitching reinforces the vehicle’s premium feel.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD, said: “The Jaguar E-PACE has been an enormous success for Jaguar UK, swiftly becoming our best-selling model in its first full year of sales. From April 2018 to March 2019 well over 11,000 UK customers have opted for our newest compact SUV, thanks to its blend of striking styling, engaging driving dynamics and high-tech features. With this new Chequered Flag special edition – featuring unique colour options and a whole host of upgraded standard features – E-PACE becomes a more enticing package than ever before.”

The special edition comes with a comprehensive list of standard features. Inside, this includes 10-way heated front seats, a panoramic roof, heated steering wheel and a 12.3-inch TFT Interactive Driver Display, alongside design enhancements such as an R-Dynamic branded steering wheel, black aluminium gearshift paddles and an Ebony Morzine headliner.

Chequered Flag’s distinctive exterior features R-Dynamic body-coloured bumpers, twin tailpipes and LED headlamps with signature J-blade, in addition to a Black Exterior Pack. A powered tailgate and keyless entry add further convenience.

Connectivity is improved with the introduction of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. By mirroring your mobile device to the central 10-inch Touch Pro screen, it allows drivers to use their favourite apps safely on the move.

Customers have a choice of four powertrains on the Chequered Flag model. There are 150PS and 180PS diesel AWD automatic derivatives, as well as 200PS and 249PS petrol AWD automatic variants available.

Ian Callum, Director of Design at Jaguar said: “Jaguar’s first compact SUV successfully blends its sports car DNA with a smaller, more versatile, package. Not only does this bring Jaguar to a new audience, it does so with the confidence and practicality that define the PACE family. With the addition of the Chequered Flag model, the E-PACE model range offers more choice than ever.”

As with all E-PACE models, Chequered Flag is available with Smart Settings, Jaguar’s self-learning technology. This system uses AI to learn drivers’ habits over time to anticipate their needs and serve up key functionality at the right time. This includes adjusting the seat, climate and infotainment based on individual preferences, the car recognising each driver by their key fob or smartphone Bluetooth signal as they approach.

The Jaguar E-PACE is available with Adaptive Dynamics, offering improved handling response, body control and ride. Monitoring vehicle movements every two milliseconds and calculating the required damping force every 10 milliseconds, this allows the vehicle to respond instantly to driver inputs and road surface changes, providing greater control and minimising body roll.

The Jaguar E-PACE Chequered Flag special edition is available to order now, priced from £40,050
