Volkswagen has announced new special edition versions of the Amarok pick-up truck with numbers limited to just 500 high specification models.

With striking black, blue or white paintwork, the all-wheel-drive Amarok Atacama models feature 19-inch alloys along with a black rear bumper and black rear styling bars, bi-xenon headlights, special body decals, a black door pillar finish and protective load-bed coating as well as leather trim and sat nav.

The vehicles are priced from £27,715 excluding VAT and are powered by a 2.0-litre bi-turbo 180PS diesel engine mated to either six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions.

Retail prices, which include VAT, range from £33,202 for the manual and £35,416 for the automatic version.
