Grant awarded to Vauxhall Corsa GSE
August 5, 2026
Vauxhall’s new electric hot hatch, the Corsa GSE, will be eligible for the government’s Electric Car Grant incentive.

That means customers can enjoy a saving of up to £1,500 when they order a new Corsa GSE, taking the starting price down to £32,995.
The Corsa GSE is the second hot electric Vauxhall to wear the GSE badge and comes fitted with sports bumpers, larger alloy wheels, a mechanical limited-slip differential, Alcantara sports bucket seats, sports suspension and yellow seatbelts.
Underneath, the car is equipped with a 54kWh battery pack and an electric motor that develops a total power output of 277bhp and 345Nm of torque. It can take the car from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and will go onto a top speed of 112mph.
In terms of range, Vauxhall claims that the car can travel up to 232 miles between charges and that 100kW DC rapid-charging is compatible, allowing a zero to 80 per cent top-up to be completed in 30 minutes.
The Corsa GSE is going up against some stiff opposition, rivalling the likes of the Alpine A290, Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID.Polo GTI.
Orders for the Corsa GSE open in September with UK deliveries anticipated to arrive in the winter.
