Extra muscle appeal for Dacia Spring

September 16, 2026

Dacia has revealed the next-generation Spring electric city car, which will share its running gear with the new Renault Twingo.

Dacia Spring

This new car sits on the Renault Group’s RG-EV platform, while its exterior is now longer and wider than the outgoing model.

Externally, the Spring’s pronounced wheel arches, boxy silhouette and flat front give it a more muscular appearance than its predecessor, while the rear incorporates high-positioned taillights and a narrow back window.

Its interior has completely changed too, with new materials and an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system fitted on the top-of-the-range model that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Dacia says that the new Spring will provide a 337-litre boot capacity, and that the 50:50 split-folding rear seats will increase space to 1,283 litres. Furthermore, every Spring will come with an 18-litre frunk, boasting even more flexibility.

Powering the car is the same 27.5kWh LFP battery pack with a single electric motor that you’ll find in the new Renault Twingo. This set-up produces 79bhp and 175Nm of torque, while Dacia claims it can take the car up to 155 miles between charges. Meanwhile, 50kW DC rapid charging will be compatible, allowing a 15 to 80 per cent top-up to be completed in 28 minutes.

Prices and specifications for the new Dacia Spring have not been revealed at this stage, but more information will be offered at a later date.
