Jaguar unveils its Type 01 trailblazer
October 8, 2026
It’s been a long old wait, but the Jaguar Type 01 is finally here, and it’s the trailblazer of the brand’s electric future.

Built to rival the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-AMG GT four-door coupe, the Type 01 looks like nothing else on the road, thanks to its low and sleek profile.
Jaguar has pulled off all the tricks to make this one of the most head-turning cars around, with its long bonnet, low silhouette, tapered roofline and lack of rear window, making it the most aerodynamic model the firm has ever built.
The cabin is just as striking as the exterior with a minimalist approach, while the driver receives a 24-inch OLED display, and there is a compact seven-inch smartphone-style screen that’s positioned between the driver and front passenger. The dashboard is flat, and there is a central spine that runs down the centre console, which gives individual space to all four occupants.
In terms of audio, the Type 01 is the first production car in the world to receive a panoramic surround-soundbar with sensory audio that allows the driver and front passenger to feel elements of music through the front seats.
The Type 01 is fitted with a 118kWh battery pack mated to three electric motors that develops 1,016bhp and 1,365Nm of torque. That means 0-62mph is completed in 3.2 seconds, while Jaguar claims the car can travel up to 450 miles between charges. Furthermore, 350kW ultra-rapid DC charging enables 200 miles of range to be added in just 13 minutes.
Further details on the Jaguar Type 01, including prices and orders will be revealed at a later date.
