BMW unveils its latest 3 Series model
October 1, 2026
BMW has taken the covers off the new eighth-generation 3 Series saloon, which will sit alongside its electric i3 stablemate.

The 3 Series is one of the most successful models in BMW’s line-up, and this new car is more advanced than ever before.
On the outside, the vehicle looks almost identical to the new i3 electric saloon, incorporating BMW’s Neue Klasse design language with dual integrated headlights and horizontal lighting. At the back, there are 3D L-shaped taillights and short overhangs, while the side profile gets flush door handles to improve efficiency.
Step inside, and the new 3 Series now uses BMW’s Panoramic iDrive system – the same found in the new iX3 electric SUV – which uses a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and an optional 3D head-up display. Other updates include a new dashboard design, steering wheel and AI-generated onboard personal voice assistant that works with Amazon’s Alexa+.
It’s a practical proposition too, featuring a 420-litre boot capacity, while there will be the option of a 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench to expand that space further.
Under the bonnet, the UK will get two models of 3 Series – the 320 and M350 xDrive. The former is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that uses 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, producing 208bhp and 330Nm of torque. The latter is fitted with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine, which uses the same 48-volt mild-hybrid system and increases power to 437bhp and 580Nm of torque.
Prices for the new BMW 3 Series will start at £44,975, while production is expected to start in November.
